Upcoming Events

Marilyn shares:

I am so pleased to be the Honorary Chair for this year’s Breast Impressions Gala as I celebrate my 20th year breast cancer free”, says Marilyn Ihloff, Honorary Chair.  “I  am very fortunate that my cancer has not returned, and I’ve continued to live my life to the fullest.  Unfortunately that is not the case for many women in Northeastern Oklahoma. Tulsa Project Woman provides breast health education, no cost mammography, diagnostic procedures and surgical services for women who, because of financial hardship, and lack of insurance may delay seeking medical attention.   As always, 100% of the proceeds from the Breast Impressions Art Auction will be donated to Tulsa Project Woman.”

With Carrie Netherton as our emcee, the event will be catered by Escargot’s, Jay Litchfield will lead the auction of the beautiful breast casts and dinner for 6 with the Tulsa Fire Fighters.  Tulsa Ice Oiler Cheerleaders and Talon Cheerleaders have given representation of themselves as the models for the casts.  As young healthy women, Breast Impressions educated each model regarding their risk of having breast cancer during their life time, sharing with them the proper way to do a breast self exam.  Eighteen of Oklahoma’s finest artists vied for the opportunity to connect their talent with each survivor to capture their spirit and journey on a cast.  The evening will include a silent auction, and raffle for some wonderful prizes!

In addition, the Breast Impressions Survivor Calendar of 2011 will be unveiled and available for purchase at the Gala.  Carol Curry, photographer and graphic artist, Shawn Brett worked together to make the unique black and white photos pop with touches of Pink, sharing the inspirational story of each survivor featured.
